In addition to German and English lessons, we also offer CREW Learning Nuggets. These are short workshops that can easily be done during a break or after work.

The CREW Learning Nuggets allow you to expand your professional and personal horizons. You can choose from little learning nuggets on various current topics.

For instance, during the 2024/2025 winter season, you can choose from the following courses: Communication and Rhetoric, Becoming a Patisserie Chocolate Expert, First Aid Course, Fascinating Facts about Wine, Cheese and Gin for Aspiring Baristas.

The CREW Learning Nuggets are all created by “local heroes“. If you have expert knowledge in a certain field, why not share your expertise with the CREW?

winter 2024/25

avalanche course (free of charge)

On Saturday, 8 February 2025 at 6:30 pm, a free avalanche course for all CREW members will take place in the fire station in Mathon.

Course content:

•   Legal matters in connection with avalanches
•   Mobile phone direction finding and localisation during search operations
•   Alternative avalanche beacon localisation
•   Practical avalanche exercise

Important: Dress warmly and, if you have one, bring a beep device and a headlamp.

Registration is not necessary - just come along.

German for beginners in everyday and working life (a1.1/a1.2)

In this German course, non-German-speaking employees have the opportunity to learn the most important vocabulary of the German language in a fun and creative way. Topics are covered that are relevant in the world of work, but also in everyday life. At the end of the course, employees will be able to name objects, describe simple actions, give information and understand instructions and some expressions in dialect.

•   Dates: Every Tuesday, 14.01.2025 - 01.04.2025 (12 times)
•   Time: 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

In this advanced course, you have the opportunity to consolidate your existing vocabulary in German in a fun and creative way. The topics covered relate to the world of work or everyday topics that can be helpful when communicating with friends and colleagues. By the end of the course, you will be able to hold conversations in German, give information and understand instructions.

In this advanced course you have the opportunity to deepen and expand your existing knowledge of German. The topics covered will help you to cope better with working life and everyday life in Paznaun. The focus is on everyday situations and topics of conversation that can be useful when communicating with friends, colleagues and in various professional contexts. The learning methods are interactive and practice-orientated, which means you not only learn to understand the German language, but also to actively use it.

first aid – 8-hour refresher course

This 8-hour learning nugget gives you the opportunity to brush up on your first aid skills. Specially trained Red Cross trainers will be on hand to share their expertise and carry out practical exercises to deepen and consolidate your first aid skills. This will prepare you for situations in which rapid assistance is crucial. Whether in your free time, in traffic or at work - this course enables you to show civil courage and understand how important life-saving measures are in our society.

• Recognising dangers and first aid situations
• Making an emergency call and activating the rescue chain
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation & using a semi-automatic defibrillator

Training to become a chocolate pro at the patisserie

In this comprehensive course, you will gain in-depth theoretical and practical insights into the world of chocolate. Not only will you learn about the different components of chocolate and how it is made, but you will also find out what you need to pay attention to during processing in order to achieve first-class results. The course content offers a holistic perspective on chocolate, which you can apply to the production of pralines both with and without alcohol. You will also learn how to make the most beautiful desserts and impressive chocolate decorations with our local heroes.

This course is ideal for wine lovers who want to deepen their knowledge and immerse themselves in the diverse world of wine. The different facets of the world of wine are explored in five intensive courses. From the variety of wine styles - whether sweet wine, red wine or white wine - to the art of wine cuisine. This course gives you the opportunity to get to know renowned winemakers from Burgenland personally and benefit from their expertise. This course will give you the know-how you need to become a true wine connoisseur!

cocktail trends for everyone

Whether you want to celebrate in your favourite bar or spend a cosy evening at home with your best friend, we come across cocktails time and time again in a wide variety of versions. Whether with or without alcohol, the diverse mixtures and limitless preparation options will put a smile on everyone's face. In this course, you can expect to taste and familiarise yourself with various spirits, mix and stir selected cocktails and gain initial insights into flair bartending to amaze your guests.

BARISTA – THE CREATIVE ART OF COFFEE

In this certified course with barista Julian Schöpf, you will not only gain an in-depth insight into the history, cultivation and origin of coffee, but also immerse yourself in the fascinating world of the barista trade. The course begins with a journey to the origins and development of coffee and then moves on to practical knowledge about preparation and professional serving. In the course you will explore the art of coffee roasting, grinding and brewing and get answers to basic questions about perfect preparation.

This course offers solid basic training and is suitable for both beginners and advanced students.
