When you think of a safari, you think of the exotic landscapes and wild animals of Africa? A ski safari in Galtür is not about lions and giraffes but about snow and skiing. Visit the region’s most beautiful spots with the help of snowcats, cable cars and minibuses!
Facts about the ski safari
Well-prepared
- Once you have strapped on your skis, a snowcat will pull you up to Zeinisjoch and Kops reservoir at 1,800 metres above sea level.
- A varied forest descent takes you to Partenen in Vorarlberg’s Montafon region.
- From there, catch Vermuntbahn cable car and ride up to 1,739 metres above sea level.
- Another highlight of the ski safari is the tunnel taxi that takes you up to Bielerhöhe through an impressive mountain shaft.
- From the top, you enjoy splendid views of the three-thousand-metre summits of the Silvretta mountains. From there, the tour takes you through the magical Vermunt valley and back to Galtür.
Please note: The ski safari in Galtür requires average stamina as well as a good stem and parallel turn technique.
- Meeting point 1: Zeinislift 10:30 am
- Meeting point 2: 3rd bridge 2:30 pm
- Please note: Vermuntbahn cable car is on lunch break between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm.
Would you like to experience a ski safari together with your family or friends? Tickets are available at the ticket office of Birkhahnbahn chairlift. Snowcat reservations are included in the ticket price.
